The Texas 1015 Sweet Onion (TX1015) marketing campaign is celebrating the start of the second year of its historic marketing program. This program focuses its efforts directly on American consumers to increase awareness of the TX1015 Sweet Onion as the first sweet onion of the year.
TEXAS ONION INDUSTRY WRAPS UP FIRST-EVER MARKETING CAMPAIGN
The first year of the campaign resulted in over 18,000 direct social engagements, 14 new TX1015 recipes, and cataloged over 1.4 million impressions in a MAT release. Additional storytelling in a two-part video series captured the people behind the brand highlighting the TX1015 growers, packers and shippers in the, “How do you eat a Texas Sweet Onion” and “South Texas Farming – Building a Family Legacy”.
SOUTH TEXAS ONION SHIPPERS EXPECT STRONGER PRICES
Mid-February freezing temperatures in South Texas reduced yields for the onion crop, and that is expected to translate to higher prices this season.
