BACON CHEESEBURGER BOWL

Serves: 4 

Prep Time: 10 minutes 

Cook Time: 20 Minutes 

 Ingredients 

  • 1 large sweet onion, thinly sliced 
  • 3 tbsp butter 
  • ⅛ tsp sugar 
  • 1 lb lean ground beef 
  • ½ tsp salt 
  • ½ tsp black pepper 
  • ½ tsp garlic powder 
  • 1 tsp steak sauce 
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 
  • 1 tbsp ketchup 
  • ⅔ cup chopped cherry tomatoes 
  • ½ cup chopped dill pickles 
  • ⅔ cup grated cheddar cheese 
  • 1 medium avocado, peeled and chopped 
  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped 
  • ⅔ cup croutons 
  • 10 oz shredded lettuce 
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish 

 For Sauce: 

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 ½ tbsp mustard
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions 

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Thinly slice onion and add to the large pot. Season with a ⅛ tsp salt and sugar.
  2. Reduce heat to medium low and cook until onions begin to caramelize. Stir frequently to prevent burning. This will take 15-20 minutes.   
  3. While onions are cooking, prepare the beef for the bowl. Add ground beef to a medium skillet. Break the beef apart with a spatula and cook over medium heat. Cook until no pink remains. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir in steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup. Turn heat to low and prepare the other ingredients.  
  4. For the sauce, whisk all ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
