UPSIDE DOWN ONION SWISS TARTS

Makes 9 Tarts

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 18 minutes

Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

1 medium onion, sliced

¼ cup honey

Fresh thyme

⅔ cup shredded swiss cheese

1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into 9 equal pieces. Set aside. On the parchment paper, divide the honey into 9 equally spaced drops on the baking sheet. 
  3. Follow honey with a sprinkle of fresh thyme. Next place onion slices on top of the honey. Evenly divide the shredded swiss between the onions. Top with a puff pastry square. 
  4. Brush each square with egg wash and bake for 18 minutes. 
  5. Remove from oven, gently flip, and add additional honey and/or fresh thyme, if desired.
