- Preheat the oven to 400°F
- Place the onion halves cut-side up in the cups of a 6-cup muffin tin. Sprinkle the onions with salt and pepper.
- Roast for 20 minutes or until the onions have slightly softened. Brush with the butter and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 20 minutes. The onions will be very soft and browned.
BREAKFAST HACK: When you remove the onions to add butter add an egg to each cup or a mixture of scrambled eggs with vegetables or ham or sausage chunks.
